In 2009 Livin' The Dream Racing started as a long time dream that would eventually become what it is today.  The beginnings were filled with learning, excitement, disappointments, setbacks, and everything else associated with racing.  Over the years, we learned what to do, what not to do, and became what we are today, a highly competitive, fast, Top Dragster racing operation.  We've raced from Colorado to Florida, North Carolina, and now call Alaska home.  Yep, you read that right, we race here in Alaska!  My racing program, started in the late 1980's with a 1960 Chevy Impala, then moving onto a 1972 Chevy Nova.  From there it was an older 1972 Top Alcohol dragster formerly owned by Jerry Darien and called the Green Spot Express, and this is the car that launched Livin' The Dream Racing.  The car was converted to a Super Comp/bracket racing car and eventually retired as a cackle car near it's original home in California.  From there we progressed into a purpose built car, a 2001 Mike Bos car built specifically to run in Top Dragster competition, and originally owned by Dennis Kline of Huntsville Engine and Performance.  We raced that car from 2012 until the end of the season in 2025, and was able to pull off the track championship at Alaska Raceway Park in the Top Eliminator class.  As with anything, things progress and we age a little..........Getting in and out of the car was becoming more difficult for me as this car was an older design where the driver was in a semi-laid down position, and the chassis was very narrow.  I had been looking at possibly replacing the car with a newer style, but hadn't really seen anything that caught my eye.  Then, about mid season of 2025, I found a car in Illinois that fit was I was looking for.  Not a cookie cutter car but a one-off, built by Joe Hammann from what he described as a dream in his head.  His father had raced and he wanted to do the same.  The car is a much newer design, with more of an upright seating position and much larger driver area.  I flew down to check out the car and after looking it over, sitting in it and getting a feel for it, felt it was the right one for me.  Having a done deal now, we went to get the car at the end of September 2025 and started the journy into prepping the car for me and the upcoming season.   With a long winter and a ton of work to get done, we're super excited about bringing out the new car and defending our championship in the new season!
